Training
for novice and experienced operators.
Description
This
course provides training in agricultural tractors. The course is designed to familiarize
operators with the safe operation and preventative maintenance of agricultural
tractors and attachments.
Course
Content
Identify the basic construction, purpose and function of components and the purpose
and use of all controls and gauges
Identify and comply with manufacturers instructions in accordance with the operators
handbook, other information sources and applicable legislation
Carry out all pre-use and running checks
Set the tractor for site and road travel
Travel over varying types of terrain, including rough undulating ground with
various mounted and trailed implements
Travel up and down substantial inclines with various mounted and trailed implements
Manoeuvre in confined areas with various mounted and trailed implements, using
forward and reverse direction
Attach various mounted and trailed implements to the tractor
Connect and operate various types of Power Take off (PTO) driven implements
Place the tractor in and out-of-service condition
Loading and unloading procedures on and off transporters
Where
a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students
will enter for the qualification.

Holders of full licence
before 1/1/97 retain entitlement to B+E, C1, C1+E (8.25 tonnes), D1 (not for hire
or reward), and D1+E (not for hire or reward)
** Exemption - to tow damaged or defective vehicle from position
where is likely to represent road safety hazard or obstruction to other road users
so far as is reasonably necessary providing no consideration received for driving
the vehicle - Regulation 7(7).
